Some of the things you need to consider while charging a forklift battery:

· Plug it into charger only when it needs to be charged

· Keep the charging area clean and spark free

· Do not let the battery drain fully before charging as this can sell out battery life

Plug it into charger only when it needs to be expensed is the first thing you need to keep in mind, when you think of charging forklift batteries. It is recommended using the battery until the indicator shows the fee remaining is 20 percent. Once the indicator says 20 percent remaining remove the battery and plug it into a charger.

When you plug the charger cable into the port on the top of your the battery, an Led on the charger notifies you that it is charging. Wait until the Led light on the charger changes colour, indicating that charging is complete. As soon as the battery is fully charged, remove it from the charger.

Charging New Forklift Batteries

New forklift batteries can be expensed 1,400 to 1,500 times on average. If you use your forklift frequently, you may have to fee it daily. But, if your usage is infrequent, it is best to avoid daily charging.

Charging Area

It is recommended that you have an area specially designated for charging batteries. The charging process produces flammable gas like hydrogen, so it is important to make sure that the area is protected from flames, sparks and other sources of explosion. Also arrange essential amenities in the area to ensure workers' safety.

Do not let The Battery Drain fully

Letting the cells dry fully before charging can sell out the life of the battery. It is recommended you plug it to a charger before it gets fully drained. When a battery gets fully drained, sulphate-crystals assemble up on the electrodes. This prevents the battery from effectively delivering current as these crystals cause a discount of the capacity. The best way to revive a dead battery due to sulphation would be battery regeneration. This process enhances its life and operation to a great extent.

By holding these few easy facts in mind, you can ensure that your forklift batteries are expensed properly and live a long life.
